Article

Articles can be seen as product groups, which can be produced in your ETON system. The term product, refers to an unique product/instance of an article.

Each article holds a route which defines what operations must be made to produce the specific article. The operations in turn holds destinations. Routes and operations can be reused for other articles.

Each order line holds just one article, but an article can of course be used on many order lines. Each order line can also use criteria to define color, size, material for just that article.

Article Number

The article number, the logical article identifier. Can be both characters and numbers.

Description

(Optional) A longer description of the article, to provide additional information when needed.

Route

The Production Route that this article will take through the system.

Article Group

The Article Group that this article is part of. Used for Targets and Sampling.

Quantity Per Bundle

Multiple pieces may be loaded on a single bundle. The default number of pieces in each bundle for this specific article should be defined by "Quantity Per Bundle" on the article.

Quantity Per Carrier

Multiple products may be loaded on a single carrier. The default number of products in each carrier for this specific article should be defined by "Quantity Per Carrier" on the article.

If the operator wants to load a different number of products, this can be specified during the loading operation.

Bulk Factor

The initial bulk factor carriers that are loaded with this article will get.

Bulk can later be changed by operation New Bulk Factor, as completed operations can make the hanging product more bulky. A typical example is mounting two sides together, which afterwards often takes more place than two separate sides hanging straight down.

Bulk is primarily used to calculate the rail load.

Sample to Route

If this article should be randomly Sampled, this is the Inspection Route that it should take. Used when Sampling Rate > 0

Sampling Rate

The percentage chance of a product of this article being sent to sampling after any finished operation.
