Station Group

A station group is a list of stations that are grouped together either for purpose of routing or reporting. When used in a route, the order of stations within the group will affect certain addressing strategies such as waterfall.

Name

Name of the station group, this should preferably be a short description of the intended function of the station group.

Description

Optional description when the purpose of a station group is more complex.

Available For Routing

Station Groups might be available for routing, or just tools to filter data in various views in the software.

To keep the number of Station Groups listed when routing down, uncheck this box when applicable.

Stations

These are the stations contained in the group. When using waterfall addressing, the first station will be recieve carriers first, then the second and so on. For other addressing strategies the order of the stations in the group is not relevant.

Machine Group

Machine groups are a type of station group that describes the type of machinery used by this group of stations.

They have two purposes:

  • Automatic Reassignment - If you add a station to a machine group but it already exists in a different machine group, it will be removed from the previous group. A station can only exist in one machine group.
  • Route Validation - If the base operation has an assigned machine group and assign a station from outside that group on the route or article level, you will get a warning on the route.
