Examine is used for marking a carrier for examination. This used when a problem is suspected with the carrier itself, it may be bent or otherwise damaged. Examination is similar to inspection, but the mark is added to the carrier itself, so not to a product or bundle attached to that carrier.
Examine allows the carrier to continue along its current route until it is unloaded. After that the carrier will be sent to a preconfigured examination route where it can be inspected for faults or maintenance needs before being sent back as an empty carrier.
This can be done with the command
Marks carrier for examination.
Carrier will finish its ongoing route and then go to an examination station. Requires an examine route to be defined.

or by searching carriers on page "Carrier Search" in the UI, and marking them for examination via the context menu.
Marking a carrier for examination requires the Examine Carrier permission.
When this carrier completes the unloading operation, it will be sent on an examine route to complete an examine operation. If the examination passes, it will then continue on the empty carrier route.
