Detaching means that an operator is physically taking out a hanger from the system, a carrier may be detached at any location but most common is to do it at a station.
Detach
Using one of the detach commands will still keep the product on the carrier. When the product is reattached it will continue on the production route to perform the next operation. There are two different variants of the detach command
1 - Detach carrier and abort any currently ongoing operation. The carrier will be routed back to the current operation once attached again
Detaches supplied carrier from the system. Used when removing a carrier from the chain or rail.
This command will abort any currently ongoing operation.
If supplied carrier gets scanned elsewhere after being detached it will automatically be reattached to the system.

2 - Detach carrier and keep the ongoing operation. When the carrier is attached again the operation will complete and the carrier will be routed to the next operation. This can be used if the operation is in part or whole performed on a location outside the Eton system.
Detaches supplied carrier from the system. Used when removing a carrier from the chain or rail.
This will keep any currently ongoing operation, which will then be completed on attach.
If supplied carrier gets scanned elsewhere after being detached it will automatically be reattached to the system.

Reset
Resetting is done when a carrier has to be removed from the system for mechanical reasons. It is a function for mechanics and not regular operators.
Resetting will return the carrier to an empty carrier and automatically register a reset reject (code -2) on the product before running the regular detach function.

When/if the carrier is attached again, it will be treated as an unknown carrier and sent on a collection route.
Attach
A detached carrier will automatically be attached when it is scanned at any reader in the system. It is also possible to manually attach a carrier at a station with the command
