For login to work, a user needs to have user accounts configured. Accounts can come from different providers, and the two built in providers are "Eton UI Account" and "Eton Terminal Account". Both of these store user details in the Eton Ingenious database.
What account providers are used for logging into terminals and the web UI is controlled via system settings.
Accounts can also come from an external provider, for instance Active Directory, if such an integration module has been activated.
