Menu: Setup

The setup mode is a series of interconnected browse menus that allows for configuration of the hardware.

Setup mode is available via terminal command

Enters setup mode. This mode allows configuration of the station hardware.
Setup Mode consists of a number of menues with sub-menues that allows user to view and edit most hardware configuration options of the node/station.

🔒 Requires Permission 0021 • Hardware Basic

Option Description
Parameters See Node Parameter Menu
Motors See Motor Main Menu. Only visible for stations or line with a connected motor group.
Rails Configure rails connected logically to this station. See Rail Menu
Other Rails Configure rails connected physically but not logically with this station. See Other Rail Menu
Chain Motor Type See Chain Motor Menu. Set the chain motor type of this station, only visible on station types that may have a chain
Copy Station Enter a station id to copy that stations configuration to this station. See Copy Station

Node Parameters

This menu will let you view and set all node parameters.

Enter a new value with the keypad, decimal values are allowed. Press F3 key to set the new value, then back out with F4 key when ready.

Motor Menu

Option Description
Motor grp params Edit the motor group parameters for the motor group connected with this station.
Unknown Show the unknown motor menu
Add Motor Add the add motor menu
Motor Group Enter the motor group id for this station, confirm with F3.
Motor ### Show the motor options for a motor in the connected motor group. This will also show the online status of each motor.

Unknown Motors

This menu will show a list of serial numbers of motors that are connected to the CAN bus, but not associated with any motor group. If a motor is replaced, the new motor will show up here.

  • Browse the list with F1 & F2 to find what motor to set up.
  • Enter the node/motor id for the motor. Confirm with F3.

If the id entered is a motor that already exists in the database, the serial number of that motor will be updated. If the motor does not already exist, the motor will be created and the motor will be added to the connected motor group of the station.

Add Motor

Adds a motor to the connected motor group.

First, enter the node id of the motor you wish to add, then push F3. This is usually printed on the motor itself on a yellow label. Node id and motor id are the same thing. If the motor already belongs to a different motor group you will be asked to confirm if you wish to move it to this motor group.

Second, enter the serial number of the motor you wish to add and push F3. If there are no errors, the new motor will be added to the connected motor group.

Motor Options

This menu has two options

Option Description
Serial Number Enter a serial number for this motor. Confirm with F3.
Remove Remove the motor + node from the database. Confirm with F3.

Exit the menu with F4.

Rail Menu

This menu has will let you browse all internal rails for this station, and create or edit the settings for each rail. This menu will show options for rail numbers up to the max possible, as limited by the node type.

All stations are created with internal rail 1 by default, but extra rails can be added by entering the menu.

Option Description
Rail # Settings Create or edit internal rail. See Rail Options Menu
Unload Line Enter what line this station rails unloads from
Unload Node Enter the node id that handles this station rail unloads

Rail Options Menu

Option Description
Unload Delay Enter a value for the unload delay for this rail.
Address Enter the external rail number for this rail, such as 1002. Setting to 0 will delete the rail. If rail does not already exist, putting in an address will create the rail.

Other Rails Menu

Provides a list of rail options for rails that may logically belong to another station, but is electrically/mechanically connected to this node. This can be the case with a bridge where the node on one side of the bridge handles the loading to line for one bridge station as well as the unloading from the line for the station on the other side.

Chain Motor Menu

Select the type of chain motor that this station has. This option will only show up if the node type allows for having a chain.

Copy Station

Copy Station will allow you to copy the configuration from a different station to this station. The rail and station ids will be adapted to fit with the current station, but number of rails, unload delays, etc will be copied exactly.

This is useful when you have one completely configured station and wish to use that station as a template for a number of different stations.
