Line Server

The line server is a special kind of node that is used to control and monitor a line. A terminal is usually connected to the line server, enabling operators to control the line.

On large lines, there may be additional line servers set up so that it is possible to control the line from multiple locations. These operate in the same way as a regular line server.

Line Server Commands

To start line:

Starts the line

🔒 Requires Permission 0054 • Start & Stop Line

This command also reenables auto start of the line

Line cannot be started if there is an unresolved error, or motors offline

To stop line:

Stops the line and forces manual start via line server

A stopped line can only be restarted from line server via The 1 F8 command.

To stop and lock line:

Manually stop the line, and prevent it from automatically starting again. To start the line again, a 1 F8 command is required.

To reset line after an error has been resolved

Resets the line after it has stopped due to a motor/line error.

🔒 Requires Permission 0041 • Reset Line

⚠️ Repeatedly resetting a stuck line may break the drive belt. If resetting once does not work, perform a visual inspection of the line to find the problem point and resolve the issue mechanically.

Reverse line:

Run the line in reverse for a short distance.

🔒 Requires Permission 0041 • Reset Line

Reversing the line should be used with caution when the conveyor belt is stuck.
The line must be free or error status for the reverse command to succeed.

Should be used sparingly, but may sometimes be needed free a jammed belt.

Line Errors

The line server terminal will display a message if an error has occurred that prevent the line from running.

Overload

The motors have stopped due to current draw being over the set limit.

Possible causes

  • Line jam
  • Effect limit is set too low
  • Speed is set too high

Air Pressure Low

The line server has detected that the air pressure has fallen below acceptable levels. High pressure air is required for the system to function properly and lines cannot be operated without it.

Emergency Stop

Someone has pressed an emergency stop, or an emergency stop has been automatically triggered.
This error cannot be reset until the emergency stop button is released.

Additional Line Server

An additional line server (node type 228) can be used when there a line covers a great distance. It has the same commands as a regular line server, but has to verify actions such as reset and line start with the primary line server.
