Quality is handled in Eton via operators registering Fault Codes, after which the product will either be discarded, continue on the production route or go on a separate Repair Route.
If an operator does not have the permission or ability to determine what fault code should be registered on a product, it is possible to send the carrier to an inspector via an Inspection Route. The operator at the inspection station will then make the decision.
It is also possible to randomly select carriers for Quality Sampling. This selection can be based on the operator, the article or the operation being performed.
Sending a Product to Inspection
An operator may decide that a product needs to be inspected. If the operator could not complete the current operation, the terminal command to enter is
Aborts current operation for carrier in work position and sends it for inspection on a given route.
inspectionRouteCode | Route code of inspection route to send carrier on |
If the current operation could be completed, the command to enter is
Completes current operation for carrier in work position and sends it for inspection
inspectionRouteCode | Code of wanted inspection route |
Inspection routes with these codes need to be configured first.
Performing the inspection
When the product arrives at the inspection station, the inspector may enter one or more fault codes.
To enter fault registration menu at an inspection operation
Open the fault registration menu. Currently ongoing operation will not be aborted.
After the repair has been made, the carrier will continue to the next operation in the route.
If the operator has made a mistake and wishes to reset the fault registration process
If any reject faults are entered during this process, the operator is expected to remove the product from the carrier.
When the operator has finished entering faults, the operator switch should be pressed. The carrier will either continue in the production route (no fault or second quality), go on a repair route or return to the loading stations as an empty carrier.
Reinspect After Repair
Faults can be configured with a Reinspection Route that the carrier will continue on after the repair has completed. This is performed just like a regular inspection.
