The web terminal acts as an extension of the classical terminal. This is done by mounting a tablet device close to the terminal that is connected via WiFi to the Eton server. This should not be considered a replacement of the classic terminal, rather an augmentation of it.
The web terminal has two main uses; showing information about the ongoing operation and providing easier fault registration.
Operation Information
A template message can be configured to show information about the ongoing operation. There are a range of pre-defined variables to choose from, such as the current article number, the order number, the carrier id and so on. Additionally, the displayed HTML can be completely customized for advanced use-cases, including showing data from different systems.
See Interface: Extended Terminal Message for how to set this up.
Fault Registration
Fault registration can be done either on the terminal or using the web terminal. Please see the fault registration guide
How to Access
Once you have set up some template messages, you can load the web terminal on the tablet.
The tablet needs to be connected to the same network as the Eton server, ask your IT administrator how to do this.
Once connected to WiFi, open the browser on the tablet device and navigate to

This version of the web terminal has fault registration functionality.
Pairing
The web terminal needs to be paired with a classic terminal in order to function. This is done by using the terminal command

This is a stripped down version of the web terminal that only provides operation information.
Pairing
This version is paired by pressing the cogwheel in the upper right corner and then typing in the station number. The terminal number is also required to be entered, but this is always 0 unless the station has multiple terminals connected.
